How to Dress Your Microcement Table for a Cozy Dining Room

Choose the Right Chairs: Shapes, Colors and Heights That Actually Work

A microcement table has something a bit magical about it: even though it’s clean and minimal, the whole dining room changes as soon as you style it well. If you’ve just installed yours —or you’re about to order a custom microcement table— it’s totally normal to wonder how to combine it so the space doesn’t feel cold.

The first thing to look at is the chairs. With a microcement dining table, which already has a strong visual presence, lighter chairs usually work best: slim legs, slender backs and, if possible, upholstered seats to add warmth. If your table is light, chairs in natural wood or sandy tones create a nice balance; if the table is darker, you can play with lighter fabrics or soft colours (greyish green, smoky blue, etc.).

Pay attention to the height of the backrest as well. Very tall backs on every chair can make the whole set feel heavy. A mix of chairs and a built-in bench, for example, works brilliantly with custom microcement tables, because it lets the space breathe visually.

Textiles, a Centerpiece and Lighting: The Trio That Changes Everything

Then come the textiles, which are what send the message that “people really live here”. A washed linen tablecloth, table runners that let the microcement tabletop show through, or natural-fibre placemats soften the mineral texture without covering it completely. If you’re not into tablecloths, pair the table with cosy cushions on the chairs and a large rug that frames the whole dining area.

And finally, the lighting. A microcement table really benefits from a statement pendant hung at the right height – not so high it gets lost, and not so low that it’s in the way. A microcement lamp in the same shade – or in a slightly different tone – creates that “designed as a set” feel that interior designers love. Finish it off with a simple centerpiece: a vase with branches, a ceramic bowl, a few low candles. Not much, but well chosen.

That way, your table stops being “just” a piece of furniture and becomes the real heart of the dining room.
