What is a microcement chair like? Is it comfortable to sit on for a long time?
Our microcement chairs are not solid blocks; they have an internal structure designed specifically for seating and an outer skin in microcement. First we design the ergonomics – height, backrest angle, seat depth – and then we apply the microcement as a continuous surface. This way we create microcement chairs with a sculptural presence that are still comfortable for everyday use.
Are microcement chairs too heavy to move daily?
We design our microcement chairs to be used naturally in a home or restaurant. The internal structure and the thickness of the coating are calculated so the chair is stable but still manageable to move. It’s true that they weigh more than a lightweight plastic chair, but much less than a solid concrete piece.
If you need microcement chairs that are especially light, we can take that into account and study it at the design stage.
Can microcement chairs be combined with microcement tables, or microcement and wood tables?
Of course. Very often we design the whole set: a microcement table or microcement and wood table together with matching microcement chairs. We can coordinate shapes, colours and proportions so the whole set feels like one coherent furniture family, not just separate pieces.
You can also mix our microcement chairs with chairs in other materials if you prefer a more eclectic dining room.
Can microcement chairs be used outdoors?
We can produce microcement chairs for outdoor use, but it’s important to know from the beginning where they’re going to live: covered terrace, garden, pool area, etc. Depending on their exposure to sun, rain and humidity, we adjust the microcement system and the type of sealer we use.
We also look carefully at the type of legs and how they touch the ground, so your outdoor microcement chairs perform well over time and cope properly with the real conditions of the space.
How do you clean microcement chairs?
Day-to-day care is very simple: a soft cloth, water and neutral soap are enough. As with the tables, we recommend avoiding very aggressive products or abrasive scourers that could damage the sealer.
If your microcement chairs are used outdoors, it’s a good idea to clean them a bit more often to remove dust, rain marks or environmental dirt, so they keep their matt mineral finish looking fresh.
Can I customize the color and design of the microcement chairs?
Yes. We can adapt the shape of the microcement chair (more enveloping, lighter, with or without arms, etc.) and the colour of the finish so it matches the rest of your microcement furniture and the overall space. We work to order, so you’re not limited to a single standard model.
